    Hi,

just wondering has anyone come across this crowd, apparently they offer the 59 minute free call hang up/redial thing but also same service to allow free internet access (off peak) and for 10e a month.

You just need to change dial up number to local one rather than 1892, if there anything dodgy about this or has anyone heard anything negative about them....?

    would appreciate any info, thanks!

from experience, dont bother. when you change from eircom, for the few weeks before it's sorted, you loose all your eircom options == a huge phone bill.

didn't turn out to be cheaper or enough to warrent a change.

When we changed from eircom to some other network it ended up costing more and when we went to change back they told us we had to wait about a week after cancelling the other connection before they connected us back to Eircom.

So really you'd have to be COMPLETELY sure before you changed over and usually it ends up costing you the same.

    Hope this helps

Ok, hadnt thought of that, thought it was along the lines of porting a number with your mobile but sounds like its not going to work out as I expected!

Am on IOL on the 9.99 p/m thing for 30 hrs internet access but pain in the *** you cant use it during the day without paying big bucks so thought this would be a good solution!

    Thanks for the info

    Misspelling of the Month.

I dont know about the quality of their service, I do know that the sales reps are run on some sort of pyramid scheme. You pay to become a rep, the emphasis being on the more reps you sign up the more money you get, weekly pep rallys for the sales reps to attend. Looking at there prices, the savings are not that great (cheaper than eircom yes but as cheap as esat?)

    Hi folks,
My friend bought me along to one of these meetings where you can sign up to become a rep. I know a couple of prople that have changed over and they have noticed the difference immediately in their phone bill.
For the basic option of 10 euro a month, all local and national calls are free up until the 59th minute where you should simply hang up and redial. Even if you continue with the call after 60 minutes the rate is still cheaper than eircom at 3.7c a minute. There are extras you can add on then like a mobile option that gives you 300 minutes free calls to mobiles.
The reason why they can offer these rates is solely from the fact that they do not advertise, they rely on word of mouth. Most people who signup end up recommending it to friends and family.
It's worth talking to a rep.
    For detailed options check www.euphony.com
Also a broadband package will be coming out soon.

I changed my calls to utv just to get their internet offer. E30 a month broadband. My phone bills are def. cheaper. Also they have the free evening and weekend calls up to 59mins(utv talk). Only catch is it's a 12 month contract but it is working out cheaper per month for us.

i've had it installed for two months now and its saved quite a packet as well.

The phone bill has gone down from 200 euros on average to about 60 euros a month which is inclusive of vat and line rental.

the only annoying bit is that if you have call tracking, you have to key in like 5 digits before your call tracker i.d. and then the actual phone number.

Yeah, my dad swears by Euphony.. He did some selling for them a while ago, not sure if he still does..
Couldn't be bothered getting a landline installed myself because of the rip off line rental costs, but if I ever do, I'll definitely give them a shot..

I've heard great things about them and we'd probbaly switch to them, but we are getting UTV BB with their Talk package which seems like very good value!

We have it at home its only land lines that are free and its just coz they are dirty cheep but if you get stuuck with a answering machine on a mobile it costs a bomb

I've been with them for about 8-9 months now, I have saved a lot since most of my calls were national calls.

My bills basically went from around 125-150 per month to about 70-100 including line rental. I generally spend about 25-28 a month on Euphony, and most of the charges are for mobiles, which are very close to eircoms. Having said that, they don't offer single billing which is a right royal pain, but they do now offer a cheaper option of 4.99 a month for 59 minutes free off peak to landlines, which is the same as UTV only you pay 4.99 but have the luxury of no 12 month contract. Also the mobile rates go up a little.

They are very, very good and offer competitive rates if you mainly make local and/or national calls. However none of the telcos offer competitive rates for mobiles, apart from a small number charging more, most of them charge within 1c per minute of each other with few offering accross the board discounts.

The no 12 month contract thing is great if like me you move around a lot and use different ISPs.

Also I have found a way to get free internet calls during the day - use the Limerick ISP elive - works for me, but like yourself I also use Netsmart.
