THB I am actually V.impressed with the switch from National Geographic to Discovery. I was pleasantly surprised to see documentaries based on stuff like Navy Seals and Space exploration. I love stuff like black holes and the likes and have already seen two programmes dedicated to it, and we only have the channel for the past week.

IMO this is the best TV change we've had in a while. They usually wait until the ratings on a particular channel go up and then take it away from us. Slam a "pay per view" or "subscription" sticker on it. Damn NTL!.

I like the channel and some of the stuff is good but there doesnt seem to be any natural world stuff on it. I still like to know whats going on in nature. I dont want to become ignorant to that and **** myself laughing when I see an elephant or something.

The Discovery channel has Steve Irwin. National Geographic doesn't.
Simple, really. I only wish I could still get it, instead of some dumb German channel that shows Magnum (dubbed) at prime time.

The switch to the discovery channel from national geographic is a good one IMO. i can turn it on anytime now when there's nothing good on and i usually find something that's actually pretty interesting.

Most impressed with it. A large and varied selection of material.

Haven't had much of a look as of yet... I just wish they'd bring back NBC, Jay Leno ruled.
And Conan O Brien... Man that was funny!

Discovery Channel has everyones favourite psycho animal dude Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Erwin on it... therefore it holds the title as channel most likely to be switched to when ****ed.

to quote cartman: "I'm really gonna **** this little beauty off by sticking my thumb up its butthole"

    Great to watch.

I think that about 50% of the material is quite similar - but Discovery comes across a bit more 'All American'

Discovery Channel actually has some decent stuff on it - I watched a thing about Fighter Pilots today.

But yes, bring back NBC. I don't know how many times I was late for school because I stayed up to watch Leno and Conan smile.gif

Even though I was their captive, the Indians allowed me quite a bit of freedom. I could walk freely, make my own meals, and even hurl large rocks at their heads. It was only later that I discovered that they were not Indians at all but only dirty-clothes hampers.

Yeah!, and who could forget Conan's sidekick Andy. Man those guys ruled. Leno was good, but Conan was better. Did you know that he was actively involved in the making of the Simpsons a few years back (in the humour script dept. of course). wink.gif

Actually if we could get each TV station on cable to write a short document describing their contribution to society in detail. Making it easier to see which server a purpose and which are expendable. A wee bit like American Beauty, Really!. (Saw that bit on Sky Premier a few mins ago) Good Stuff biggrin.gif
