right i am in desperate need of help here. i have just built two new pcs in work yesterday. i got the first one working perfect with every singl update that is necessary. the problem is that when i clone the second hdd and put it into the second pc none of the desktop icons appear or anything else for that matter. even ctrl alt+del doesnt work. the only thing that works is to manually restart the pc or manually turn it off. any help will be appreciated well in advance

If the second PC boots up in safe mode and can see the network then ignore ghost.

On the first PC do a full NTBACKUP of the C: drive and system state. - copy this file to the second PC and use NTBACKUP to restore it - making sure you ticked the option to overwrite all files.

by NTBACKUP do u mean use the backup option in the system tools that comes as standard with windows 2000? if not how do you use the NTBACKUP?
