Im taking glucosamine cause ive artritus in my wrists (woo 24 and already falling apart) Ive been reading a book which says i should take at least 1500mg per day (its a reputable book so i believe it completly)

Problem is ive a shed load of this stuff left after buying it in bulk and dont want to chuck it and buy more expensive higher dosage and just leave this stuff here but the box says not to exceed 1000mg per day and it says it a good few times on the box.

Anyone know why it says 1000mg is all i should take when everything i read says its completly safe and even taking more than 1500 is safe just a waste of money. Surly the tab company would want me to take more not less than what im suppose to be taking ?!? After all this stuff is just a fish oil with no side affects other than a lighter pocket.

Im not looking for medical advise or anything just perplexed as to why the box is telling me to take less than is advised.

As the label says on all medicines, Seek Medical Advise From A Trained Professional If You Are Uncertain

    Ask your pharmacist or doctor.

perhaps your doctor thinks you don't need as much, why not just ask him? nobody here can tell you, every person is different.

You're much better off buying liquid glucosamine. 1,500mg is the standard recommended dose of any Glucosamine sulphate product. Not sure why your box suggest 1,000mg.

Check the list of active ingredients, alot of glucosamine sellers pack their box with high dose KCl and NaCl Glucosamine which is far less effective than GSulphate.

Most of the better products will also contain chondroitin sulphate. One of the best liquid suppliers are Flexicose. http://www.flexicose.com/
