I know it's too late to have anything done now now, but I'd advise people to have nothing to do with Joe Duffy. He is a cynical vulture preying on the emotions of vulnerable people.
Just another fat rich former leftist sell-out.

Not a fan of Joe Duffy either?

Unfortunately his show is the one to listen to or get on to if you want certain issues raised with the public.

Edit: On a lighter note Gift Grub had an amusing Live-Line sketch which may appeal to your sentiments ... Hope this link works.

Well this iwas the reason I thought I would post about it here. I posted the message after he put out a call on Radio one at 12.30 before the news at one. But when the programme came on he only had one caller on the subject. He specifically asked for guide dog owners, but ended up taking on people who went on about pets being frightened by fireworks.

one lousy caller, considering the amout of expense that goes into training a dog to be a guide dog, it should have been given more coverage. ffs you can buy a house in parts of limerick for the the amount of money it takes to train a guide dog.

Fair comment, and I applaud your good motives. Forgive me for asking, but do you have a disability? Or did you just think we'd like to help?
This isn't to slag you, by the way.

I have a visual impairment wheels, I have many friends who have guide dogs and to see how having to give them up whether it be due to fire works or whether the dog just dies from old age is heartbreaking, its like loosing a best friend to these people.

I'm curious, why is that relevant?
