hi folks. i am about to make my first order with jes.de, and am looking for some advice.

i remember reading on a thread here before that when ordering from jes using the paypal method, there is a small % charge for using paypal. however when i emailed jes they say there isnt. can anyone who has ordered before clear this up? are there any other hidden charges i should know about? and how long does it generally take them to deliver when using paypal (taking for granted the item is in stock)

another unrelated question is im also ordering a DVI cable. there are 2 listed here from what i can make out, is the standard the 18 pin or the 24?

Using PayPal with your credit card means you have to (for the first time you want to use it) pay about $1.95 to activate your card, you then have to wait until this transaction appears on your statement and then activate the credit card using the code given as part of the transaction description. Fine if you have an online query to view your credit card transactions (like 365online) otherwise you have to wait until te printed statement arrives.

I have used PayPal recently and there are no other charges.

ive used the card with paypayl before so that shouldnt be a problem. the charges that i read about on a thread here before were specifically jes related (unless im completely misremembering) so thats what im after info on. thanks anyway gosh

Dual Link DVI supports 2x165 MHz (2048x1536 at 60 Hz, 1920x1080 at 85 Hz). A dual link implementation utilizes all 24 of the available pins.

Single Link Single Link DVI supports a maximum bandwidth of 165 MHz (1920x1080 at 60 Hz, 1280x1024 at 85Hz). A single link implementation utilizes 12 of the 24 available pins.

Should have added that both are standard - it depends on the type of device you're attaching. Unless it says use a dual-link cable then go for the single-link

watch the shipping charge on your order. Then go back, change to payment in advance and look at the shipping charge again ;)
