I've decided I'm going to buy myself an LCD TV for my bedroom for various reasons, one being lack of space. I have a budget of about 550-600 euro tops. I was looking at the Maxim(I think thats who make it) one on special in Dunnes (how cheap can I be:o), and a Beco one in Power City. Anybody have any ideas on these, or any other ones in my price range?

EDIT: Just found this on play. I think I'll get this. Anybody know if its any good/bad?

    Thanks.

Philips should be good alright. I assume you're aware that it's sterling prices? Never heard of a Maxim LCD TV so I'll assume it's a rebadged TV. Not too sure about the Beko either. It may be OK, I'd probably choose Beko over Maxim, and choose Philips over them all.

I think I'm going to go with the Beko. The Beko stuff my parents ahve bought hasn't caused any problems, and it's only going to be used for watching the odd DVD or playing PS2/XBOX.

/me hopes it has a few scart connections

FYI Play don't ship any hardware outside the UK.

I thought that would be the case. Thanks for that.

Just thought I'd throw some views in here.

I bought the Philips one myself a few months back, excellent build and picture quality. I would advise getting the Philips over Becko, afaik they are not good quality compared to brands like philips, and the ones I saw had terrible refresh rates. If I were you I'd go for the philips, you wont look back.

The only bad thing to say (or a good one, if it's winter!) is that the Philips is almost like a radiator with the amount of heat it gives off, but I guess it's the same with all LCDs!

P.S. The thing about LCDs is the response time, which is usually slow so they arn't great for gaming, you tend to see ghosting on the screen.
