Sky digibox. Will it work on hotbird?

Will a normal sky digibox (panasonic) work on the Hotbird satellite? With the correct dish and alignment? Do I need a card to recieve channels or are there freeview channels?

Not very suitable I'm afraid, go for a cheap FTA box

It will work for some free to air channels, But you cannot put a cam or another card into it. The main reason why it won't work is that you cannot change the symbol rate or the FEC, That changes with certain providers/Transponders.

If you're just looking to mess about to see what's out there then you can use it to get most of the free channels. However, if you are looking to permanently view channels on hotbird then you might want to look into a cheap FTA box.

What sort of channels can you pick up with a sky dish and digibox, have them at home, card was knocked off there 2 years ago but can I still pick up channels just with the dish and box??
