    Cheers

    yeah, its a good shot.
the colours are very good, and its setting - just having killed- is perfect.

    some constructive critcism:

maybe you could have taken the shot from lower down, from the birds, eye level.

also, it appears to have a blue tinge to the shot, probably due to the lighting and the light bouncing off the road, maybe tweak it by lowering the blue and adding yellow

It's great that you were able to get the shot.
And it's not a bad shot.

But, it just seems cluttered to me.
I thought that the first time i saw it, and i've looked at it a number of times since you've posted it and still feel the same.
My eye is drawn all over the photo, the leaves, the blood, the feathers in the background, everywhere except the sparrowhawk.

Obviously you can't ask the bird to hang on there while you get a better position or while you clear away some of the leaves, but maybe it could have been nicer from a better angle.

Did you just get the one shot or are there others?
I'd be interested to see them if there are.

You mean you don't see that eye staying "Mine! BITCHES. Whos next?"

Oh, it is nearly symetric in a "clashing, not matching colour" kind of way. Is it cropped or can it be re-cropped?

    ROFL :D

nice pic but i do agree with DotOrg about the slight blue tinge, slightly annoying but never the less a very good shot. how far away where you when you took it? and did you actually see the kill?

    hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback on this.

On the picture it self i was in the car at the time just pulled into a cemetery in Shankill when this happend. I did get out of the car after a few shots but the little sucker took off. this was the best shot but others i have are not as good for one reason ot another. There is a slight blue hue to the pic but i corrected this after and have a much better colour cast to it now. May upload tht later.

On Kill@in, I wish i could have cleaned the road before hand, ahh hindsight... LOL
I think the focal point on the eyes of the hawk is pretty cool myself but thanks for comments all the same.

I might post more pics after they are cleaned up.

    Again cheers

Ya know what i meant. :p
I meant we can't always get the subject the way we'd like it, but try to make the most of what you have.

If it was the best shot you could get, then it's the best you could get.
I never said it was a bad shot.
It was a great spot, and you got the shot.
Some people might not have even seen it.
I just think a different angle or a slightly wider shot may have been better.
