SKY+ ordering woes

Tried to order sky+ today for €149 +mirror sub box. After 2 attempts got thru to sales in scotland. They spent ages trying to take my details and then told me they couldn't give me the offer as described because its not in their system. After 23 mins on the phone they told me to call their "Irish Sales Office" to get the deal.

After my long call I feel cheated. If the offer exists why cant they give me it? Does the "Irish Sales office" exist?

The best they could offer was sky + for €199 without mirror sub box.

Anyone know whats going on? If i can't get the offer advertised I will complain to the asai about sky false advertising.

    Thanks Rant over

Your Local Sky Dealer can give you a similar deal. At the moment he can install for you a Sky + box and a multiroom box for 299. When the installation is complete he can then give you a claim form which you can send back to Sky to recieve 100 euro cash back. So really you are only paying 199 euro.
What county are you in, I may know somebody from there?

Well They should honour their deal. €149 for multiroom. http://www.sky.com/skycom/article/0,,91069-1130664,00.html
Why should I have to give any more cash?

Just think about it, for the sake of a 50 euro note you would have less hassle, and less time on the phone!! And should anything go wrong with the system at least you know your man up the road isnt too far away to sort it for you.

SKY should honour the deal they are advertising on the web. I have signed up for this offer and am only playing 149 EUR. The salesperson I was dealing with was totally familiar with the order and no questions were asked. My credit card has already been debited for 149 EUR and installation is scheduled for next Mon. I was also given SKY Sports free for one month.

Hey guys, if you dont mind me asking how, Xactly R you getting such a good deal as 149 Euro, for Sky +. The best i can get is 229 in my local Tv store & most main electrical retail stores.

I guess if you are getting such a good price, you R probably a new customer.

I mean that really ANNOYS me, what's up with that ? Sky bend over backwards to accomodate new subscribers, but us Xisting customers are lumbered with a huge 300 euro bill 4 Sky +, earlier this year, and now they drop it to 229. That is nothing. Come on Sky, give us a better deal.

Anywho now that i have that off my chest, great board U guys & gals have here. :D

Yes, I'm a new customer to SKY. SKY should offer a similar deal with existing customers as a customer loyalty scheme.

    Update:

My sky was due to be installed today. Got a call from installer at 9.15 am advising he would arrive at 10.15. At 10.15 he duely arrived but without my sky boxes. He did nothing and went away. He said "I aint got time to go get the right boxes, its your problem now!" I was insensed. I rang sky to complain and after the 2nd call spoke to a manager who was extermely helpful.

It turned out that sky was not at fault, it was the incompentant installer not taking the right stuff. She rang the installers gaffer and my system will be installed tomorrow.
I am rightly cheesed off by the whole thing. I took a day off work to be there, what a waste.

Anyone else experience this sort of thing?

Just got off the phone from SKY ..

As an existing customer I will pay €199 to have my existing Sky box moved upstairs and replaced with a Sky + box .

If I just want the existing box replaced with a Sky+ box it will cost me €329 .

If I were a new customer it would only cost me €149 .

Now thats a bit ****e .. As a loyal customer they are charging me €50 more for less equipment ..

    Bastards .

I booked my SKY+ & Multi-room installation before I went on holidays i.e. 1.5 months in advance and was assured they would come on time. I was a bit sceptical as all my friends says this ain't going to happen. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call at 7:45am from the technician on the due date that he would arrive around 10am to do the install. He then arrived at 9:45am and everything was completed before midday! Everything is running perfectly and I'm a very satisfied customer. I guess I was lucky.
