ok, so i've decided which MP3 player I want, and I was all set to buy it from the irish region on the creative website, until I spotted the same thing on the singapore part of the site for €70 cheaper.
so, what i'm wondering is has anyone had any experiences using the singapore site - i know it's cheaper, but would i be better off in the long run if i used the european site?

Check the small print - they dont ship outside of the far east according to their delivery blurb. Shame really coz I was looking for a Muvo 2 FM or a Zen Micro. Neither of which has appeared in their US shop - let alone in the irish one.

Dont hold your breath for them to appear over here either. With the amount of 5Gig mini hd players announced this month there are going to have to be huge volumes of shipped from the HD manufacturers to meet the demand......
Also theres a 5gig ipod mini coming soon to hover up the demand even more.

I reckon we're gonna be looking at sold out signs everywhere.

yeah, i went back just now to sign up and they wouldn't accept and irish address for delivery, ah, well, i'll just have to fork out the extra €70, as i thought i would. poo.

even still, creative's own site is the cheapest i've seen the one i want (aside from amazon.com or the walmart site, where it's sinfully cheap but they won't ship to this stinky country!!)

price could be a difference in VAT rates?

Singapore GST (VAT) is 5% or 0% at the airport. Probably makes up a bit of the difference. Things are also cheaper out here also.

I used the Singapore site, but to deliver to Singapore :)

You could set up a tidy business supplying us deprived Irish boards members with the technological wonders of Singapore. (for a price)

    Mines a Zen Micro - or possibly a muvo2 fm. ;)

The US creative site has Zen Micro's estimated for 1st Nov - no sign on the euro website yet.

Well my next trip home is in the middle of November, might think about this!!

Also because Creative is a Singaporian company they usually give local discounts on new products at launch.

For instance I bought a Zen Touch a few months ago at SG$480 about €225 and the creative shop has it at €320 in ireland at the moment

Zen micro I think will be launched here next month at SG$450475ish so about €210-220.
