    i'm having this annoying problem.
    i upgraded a system from win98 to win2000 recently,
and the default resolution when you 1st load windows is 640*480

i change the resolution to 800*600 and up the refresh rate,
and that is fine. but when i next turn on the pc, it returns to 640*480.
keeps doing this. really annoying.

    any suggestions?

Have you tried dowloading specific Win2K drivers for your card?

it is a via me6000 mobo with onboard graphics,
and am using the drivers supplied on the CD.

i have had a few HDD problems with this system [now solved]
and have installed windows this way about 10 times in the last month or so,
but never had a problem with screen resolution before.
is there a profile i can set in win2000 to remember my settings?
