    http://www.rte.ie/news/2004/1019/travellers.html

A well organised Garda raid of the travellers who have been protesting at their treatment and calling everyone who opposes them of 'racism' have been discovered to be a cover for a criminal racket. The cache of equipment and stolen goods was astonishing ! including three bows and arrows, a spear gun along with several thousand euro worth of stolen power tools !!

And before anyone jerks their knee.... I support EQUALITY under the law. Travellers should be treated exactly like EVERYONE else..... and should be locked up like anyone else.... and should be paying taxes like anyone else .. ans should stay off private land like everyone else.

reckless, its a simple mistake to make, I've often ended up in PI when I was intending to go to Politics. Thankfully I usually catch my bluder before I post (if thats what I was going to do), so I've been spared your wrath... for the time being...

EIT: Anyway, to get back on topic, where s that guy who was on RTE complaining about how the poor innocent travellers were being blocked on their way to work and school now then, eh? Bloody hell, they showed one of the vans on the news this evening, bullseye painted on the side and five or six shots taken at it already...

He started the thread, you replied to it. You're on boards three years with 3000+ posts and still replied to a thread that didn't belong on PI.

    There's your context.

So he knew from experience that the thread would be move swiftly onwards. But there's always one to kick up a rumpus.

Tbh therecklessone, it can be a tad annoying having people say where the thread should be. There's quite a large list of annoying stuff actually. One is that.. another one is "Mods please feel free to move this thread if you don't think it belongs here." Could that be any more annoying?

In the understanding that a thread will get moved I, and I know many other posters, will tend to reply to the thread as if it was correctly placed so as to allow a fluid read of the thread. Which is exactly what we are disturbing right now.

Anyway, so, travellers eh? What a bunch of whacky funsters eh? EH?!

You seem like a dry****e - hence the party comment. It is relevant unlike your comment. Anywho this is a stupid arguement, this is my last post.

Careful now, approaching the auld personal abuse. Attack the post, not the poster and all that jazz... ;)

Agreed. My bull**** detector was on 11 and you raised my hackles is all. Friends? :p

Anyway, now the thread is a little bit closer to its rightful place in the world...

Can't say I've ever had a positive experience with a traveller. I don't hate them or anything, but due to the the collective reputation that proceeds them I'm wary when I encounter anyone from the community. In addition, I've yet to see much in the way of a positive commitment to society from members of the community.

And in business news, boards.ie moved today to merge two of its largest bugbears, combining travellers and karma points into one easy-to-ignore thread.
Adminstrators say that at this stage traveller's reputation points are so low that redirecting the flow of red apples in their direction would eventually cause the +/- points system to fold in on itself (possibly aiding protein research by providing valuable number-crunching power).

Way to spam a thread there... so now it's in the right place but as you can see noone is going to post seriously as 15 of 18 posts are OT (16 of 19 now). Very effective sabotage.

If anyone actually wants to read/discuss this topic, there is a thread entitled "Dunsink Lane, lazy cops really at fault????" which although past its best days, is at least managed to stay on topic.

    Cheers,
    Al.
