postman pat sweets

    hi i know ye all remember the sweets but can anyone remember the competition they had going with the wrappers where by if you got the number 7 on the wrapper you'd get a few sweets for free??? i know it happened at the local shop around the corner from where i lived but cos i was too young it was the only one i could go to this shop only, so did this happen at yere shops as well?

    Yes that happend in the local corner shops in Waterford too - also it was the same with frozen drinks (Mr. Freeze) as far as I remember. I loved those sweets though and the blackjack ones too.

    yeah i can vaugely remember that actually with the frozen drinks :)

    Yummy is right. They were in a blue wrapper and 1p each. Gone are the days of the tenpenny mixture. :rolleyes:

    They weren't lollies - I think though you could find the lucky number on the lollies too and get a free lolly as they were all made by Bassetts. :confused:

    Haven't seen them in years.
    Fruit Salad penny sweets were lovely too, and you can still get the bars.
