Japarts rip-off

    Hi All,

Looking for a bit of advice on what to do with this shower Japarts (Japanese car importers)

I ordered a pair of rear seat headrestss from them just over 3 months ago, and when I went to them the next day they said that there had been a mix-up and they would forward the headrests on to me.

So I paid up and presumed it would all go well, but I never received anything , I spent the first 3 weeks phoning them asking where they were (I thought perhaps they haven;t got them in stock but will send them once they get them)
but nothing, since then everytime I phone the guy in the garage transfers me to some bloke who 'assures' me he will/has sent them , and I should have received them by now (Basically getting the run around hoping I'll go away)

So I'm wondering what do I do now , the last time I spoke to them the guy said he was refunding me aaswell as sending me the parts because of the hassle (That was nearly two weeks ago) .

So what should I do , seriously , do I take em to the small claims , or do I go down to them (nightmare of a trip from where I live) or what ? thanks people.

does anyone live near there that could pop by perhaps ?
    Fionn

Oh, I know now and this this guys are in Enfield. Well, never got anything from them but asbourne guys are real cowboys too

Well, i was looking for coolant reservoir for Mazda and guys in ashbourne asked 100 euro for it, which straight away looked like rip off(new part from Mazda is 120)

Went to other breakers and go it for 20 euro (which sounds right as it's only F3cking plastic tank)

They also give you different prices on the phone , just to get you drive all the way to discover that price is different 20-30euro then one quoted on the phone.
This happened to me personally and to other 3 people.

    The famous line is :

So, r u taking it or what?

anyway, i would ring them for the last time and asked them what the hell is going on. If they didn't send the package, then ask them to transfer the money back to your account.

    what car is it ?

I don't know anything about this crowd, but take your case to the small claims court if you're tired of trying to get what you paid for.

Did you pay by credit card? If so, then contact your card company!

Hmmm, I got some body parts off these guys before for my last car. (Thank you joyriders)
They seemed OK and they were cheaper than the Ashbourne place.
Maybe you should pay them a visit yourself.

Phoned them today and said as politely as I could if they didn't get it up to me by the weekend then I'll take them to the small claims court , I told him also that I didn't want to take this avenue of action and that it would be far easier for him to sort it out now than face a long day in Dublin .
I think the inconvience of it all forced him to say he would take care of it personally and get it sorted . So I'll see how it goes

Nothing worse than shoddy tradesmen, you have to be tentatious and kep at them making ful note of times, dates and the ppl you speak to. The small claims court costs nothing (well 9 euro!) and is just a matter of filling out a form I think.
