Hi am looking for a portable keyboard - budget 500 - 600 euro not interested in the percussion but more the quality of the voice instruments especially the organ.

I Don't know if you can find one in your price range, but I just recently got a Roland FP3, and its become my Holy Grail. Absolutely wonderful Stage Piano.

Another one to recommend is a Yamaha P80

But if having weighted keys isn't essential go for Yamaha's portable grand range, the DGX's I think they are. They're pretty good, although their string sounds suck donkey balls.

I'd have to agree with daram here. Yamaha offer good quality keyboards at reasonable prices.

I have one of those portable grand range. I've a PSr272 or something like that. To be honest, I only use it cause I have nothing else. Lack of weighted keys is depressing and the touch sensitivity is no good at all. Other than that, its grand as a synthesiser (although yes, the strings arent up to much). Im saving for a yamaha p120 88key job.

(just read the first post again).

The organ sound on the psr272 I have is good. I used it recording infact if you want to download and listen.

http://www.humplifunker.com/v3/downloads.htm is the link I think. And, the seaside story is the song. There an organ solo in the third section of the song which was played on the trusty keyboard.

Thanks all, for the advice - yeah quaility organ sound and weighted keys would be the basic requirement - does this rule out the psr and dgx range ???

sadly yes, they havent got weighted keys. if you want weighted keys, your probably looking at spending a lot of money.

The cheapest Digital piano/keyboard I know of with weighted keys is probably the Yamaha P60, the only thing about this model that put me off is it only has a polyphony of 32 notes.

surf around the net and I think you could get one for a about £400 sterling.
But I'd go to the Yamaha site and look at the spec before hand.

Also, look around the net for roland's RD series as well.

Theres an official yamaha distributor in Dublin. Danfay on something street (near georges street). There the cheapest place in Dublin but are still fairly expensive. Try thomann.de .
