Fitting 7gb onto a 4.7gb dvd.... how??

    Say u copy a dvd onto ur pc, and it's 7gb, but blank dvds are only 4.7gb - how do compress the 7gb so it fits on the blank dvd?

    you cant fit 7GB on to a 4.7GB DVD, you have to use nero recode or DVD shrink to decrease the quality of the video to make it fit!

    you wont really notice the quality difference anyway!

    Film DVDs can be Dual-Layer which means there are two layers of information on the DVD instead of one - so they can hold 9.4GB ( 4.7*2 - they dont actually hold that much ). To fit that onto a single disc you need Dual-Layer media and a DL burner ( like this one ) Else you need to split the ~7GB into two DVDs.

    If its a movie, use dvdshrink or davideo, they are excellent for that, i personally use davideo, if its a data disk...do as offler said, and split the 7gb into 2 dvds
