With a movie entitled Blow and stars like Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Paul Reubens (formerly of Pee-wee's Playhouse) constructing the main cast, preconceptions of sexual deviance automatically creep into one's mind before viewing the film. While the occasional sex scene does develop between Depp and Cruz, Blow focuses its plot on tracing the life history of George Jung (Depp) - a man who single handedly became the world's premiere importer of cocaine from Colombia's Medellin cartel in the 1970s. It's the type of movie that inspires conversation, one that includes post-film debate over cookies and coffee, and instigates arguments as to whether or not the drug world and its characters were accurately portrayed as being realistic.
