    Does one exist?
I've only found an IRC extension for it so far, but I was hoping someone here could help me out with a msn one too?

    thanks,

MozDev points to an ActiveX container for Netscape that they seem to suggest works for Firefox, and its official Microsoft too... Its not an XUL-type one though, so its not canon Firefox.

The only other alternate I can think of is this.

I downloaded the first one (the netscape add on), and installed it, but it doesnt seem to have shown up anywhere. Ah well! thanks anyway!

The more I look at that, the more I think that its just an wrapper for ActiveX in non-IE browsers... You'd probably have to find something else to interface with Messenger. That said, taking a look through Mozilla's official extension site and mozdev, there doesn't seem to be anything just yet...

Just as a wee word of warning: If you install ActiveX into Firefox, you're not only opening up ActiveX abilities, but also some of the ActiveX exploits that plague IE.

Course now the real interesting question is whether this will compromise your Firefox or will it try an IE only hole and die a horrible death?

Given that IE is tied into Windows Explorer (a process thats always running in the background) its pretty safe to say that an IE specific ocx exploit executed in Firefox stands pretty much the same chance of taking the system with it. Thats the very reason they were left out of FF to begin with.

Just wondering why this would be useful? Doesn't MSN messenger support in IE just display a messenger icon in Internet Explorer? I'd be more interested in something that makes messenger open up Firefox instead of IE when you get new mail.

I have been using Amsn to open MSN messenger up in other browsers, havent tested it with firefox but I just set Mozilla as my default browser and my emails opened up first time
