    i got a 200gb hdd 2 weeks ago and to my horror i found out that my mother board dosent support sats! so i got a pci sata card for the comp and now that i have it installed and the drive plugged in cables connected correctly! windows hasnt detected the hdd, the card has been found! any ideas?? how do i go about using the hdd as a hdd, not raided or any thing like that!!?

    did you see the hdd being detected at start up in the bios, when you sata starts up the sata bios should pick it up, after that then I presume you're using 2k or xp right.

    if so go to admin tools, in disk management you can see the new drive in there, just create a new volume and format it!

    Have you formatted the new drive with its own software?Are all drivers loaded for pci card?
