Sorry if this may seem a blatant advert it is not meant as such. This posts follows on from a thread a few months back when a few people asked why we had such a high shipping surcharge to Ireland and we have now managed after a little bit of effort from ourselves to reduce our historical shipping surcharge of £20 to £5 (+VAT). I hope this answers some of the criticism we have had of our previous surcharge and hopefully look forward to doing some more business into Ireland.

We are working on a separate site that will be billed in €s but have some issues/changes we have to make in systems for this to allow us to correctly invoice for VAT etc. but until then we can ship all UK products into Ireland for just £5 more.

We will be showing an Irish flag on our site to highlight this but customers from Ireland should continue to shop in our UK store.

    Your comments welcome.

Much better. Purchased from you before, found the experience reliable, and this would only serve to increase my chances of returning.

    This is great news.
I would have purchased many items in the past but for the high shipping charge.
    Well done :D

:D Excellent news. I have always discounted Dabs because of this. I'll be checking your site out for some gear next time I'm buying.

    Great stuff.
I have often purchased from you in the past as well but not lately partly because of the shipping costs. Will this reduction in cost affect the time we have to wait for our orders or will it still be 2 day delivery?

Good luck with the € pricing that would be a big help too.I'm delighted to see Dabs taking its Irish customers needs into consideration. I will definitely check out the site when purchasing again.

Thanks for all your positive comments about us becoming competitive with carriage again. Ouor service to Ireland will remain at 2 days for now but we do expect to be able to offer an overnight service at not too great an increase in price early to the middle of Next Year. We just need to make some adjustments in our warehouse to allow this to happen as currently we are limited to the amount of carriers we can use.

That's great news, I've often noticed the great prices of stuff at Dabs but was always put of by the postage. I remember I was going to buy a mouse, which cost £2/3 but the postage of £20 put me right off. I'll have to pop over later with the cc.

u guys use GLS to deliver tho dont u? The first and only time I ordered off dabs was for an expensive grapics card which GLS didnt deliver but still managed to produce a signature for(wasnt even a real name either), after a month of talking to yur customer services (i say that with a straight face cos I couldnt get more than single line response from the low level guys telling me exactly what the last reply told me and not answering a single question put to them) i got a replacement sent which was not signed for and left outside in the rain but hey at least i got the card.... funnily enuf id almost consider using dabs again but not if GLS are involved in the delivery. (there is a thread around here somewhere saying that GLS delivered one guys package to the local jehovahs witnesses once)

Anyone ever tried to register a dabs business user account?

All the business fields are for the UK and don't seem to have an Irish / EU equivalent. Eg VAT no split into 3 fields on the form with max lengths for each field which I can only presume matches a UK vat number- can't fit an irish VAT no in anway.

So, should I just leave blank or what?

No contact number for dabs :( always annoying
