The first year there is pretty much to bring your calculus up to just beyond honours leaving cert level and introduce mathematical modelling afaik. You'll also take some computing subjects in year one and other things that I don't recall. Have you been doing any maths? 2nd year on in there covers a lot of decent pure maths topics that you'd expect from a 3rd level course. Were you working hard to get an OB1 or do you think it's something you could have done much better in if you'd put in more effort or your circumstances had been different?

If they'll take you with an OB1 then I guess it's up to you to decide if you're willing to try it out and put the work in. The book I recommend in the "Recommended textbooks" sticky would be a good one to get your hands on to see if you'd be interested in the sorts of things you'd cover.

It might be tough with only an OB1. If you do decide to do it, you'd better be prepared to study really hard and do lots of problems.
If you do decide to do it, good luck! If you've got a head for abstract stuff, a maths degree is wonderful.
