    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to see this bird with a 85cm dish.
I am installing a motor and for my location 8w is the arc top.
I have struggled for days to find it.
    Thanks.

Hi Ros Man, Im also using 8w as the peak of my arc. I used syria satellite channel (12747 H 2894 - 3/4) to try tune in as well as possible on my 1m dish. www.lyngsat.com have more listings of the few channels on that satellite. Are you able to get any other satellites at the moment?

Also by your name are you in Roscommon?

can get it in athlone with 80 cm dish.if your in roscommon 8w should be true south aswell. i used 8w as my true south and can get all possible satellites for the dish size with the motor. try this frequency for syria tv on atlantic bird 8w,
    12748 h ,3/4 and 2893 symbol rate.

    Hi Guys,
I am after no channels in particular on 8west. I just want to use it as the arc top. My LNB is a blue line MTI 0.6db. and I am located at Latidude 54N and Longitude 8W which is in Co. Ros :D .
I can pick up hotbird and Astra, but only by adjusting the dish down. I think I have a problem with the declination angle as I have no way of adjusting this on the dish.
    Any Ideas

Hi Ros Man, reason I posted the frequency for syria sat is that you could use it to measure your signal from the reciever if you arent using a meter of anykind. (this is the way I align my dish :) ) Have you set the correct angle on the motor? Is the motor a DiseqC 1.2 or is it actuator?

http://www.satelitska-tv.com/en/installation/diseqc.htm is a good place to read up if you are having problems. I believe it was Greenman who posted this link a while ago if so, kudos.

It is disque 1.2 h-h motor and when I set the angle on the motor to 54 for my location I see nothing. I have to set it to 58 to pick up hotbird and astra. I think I need to figure out a way to adjust the dish angle.

Is there no bracket on the back of the dish allowing you to loosen the bolts and move it?

No bracket, just a straight arm. It is an old dish from the sky analogue days.

Set it to 54 and do not touch it again, you should only adjust the elevation of the dish (declination) to get 8w. Then move the motor to astra 19 for example and move the motor on its mount to get it facing true south.

Unfortunately I have no way of adjusting the dish angle. So, I might have to source a bracket of some kind or a new dish.
I assume once I set the motor at 54, adjust the dish angle to find 8w, everything else should line up.
