I run an internet cafe in East Wall. As there are a lot of cafes around the area I would like to do something different and start classes in mine. We have been open for about a year now and business has not been great. I'm looking for qualified teachers to teach classes in my cafe. I would like ECDL, Web Design, Basic Computers or any other courses. Teachers must be able to certify all their students on completion of the courses. I cannot agree a fixed rate of payment with the teacher yet so all the fees for each course will be split 50/50 between myself and the teacher. The more students we can enrol in the courses the more money each of us will make. If no students enrol won't be able to pay any money to teacher. If you hav any questions just reply or pm me.

Just to post my 2 cents.

Many courses have certification indenpendant of the teacher. (Eg ECDL, A+, MCP's MOUS etc.)

For example the ecdls have to be taken at an accredited venue. Accreditation is manged by by ICS SKILLS in Ireland (www.ics-skills.ie).
Non universally recognised certificates are not of much use, and most students look for an recognisable certificate, one their prospective employers recognise.

Hence sayng the teacher must be able to certify the students is a bit pointless. Instead if your Cafe can host the exams, by gaining accreditation, you can offer the exams as part of the course.

Also how do you plan to advertise for students? How many is the maximium in a class? as you are planning to pay per head, the teacher will make more money, but the quality of tuition will suffer the larger the class!

Just a few things that might help you form your business plan.
Also most courses will require courseware materails for the student.
Will you be paying for that, will it come out of the fe the students pay, etc.
(Or will you be using 'photocopies!?)

PS I am interested in teaching part time. Not just trying to make difficulites!

    X
