There is a gang of us planning on going snowboarding around the end of january.. Does anyone know of any good deals and does anyone have any recomendations. Myself and another lad have gone loads of times before but the rest of us are beginners and are going to need a resort that has places to learn. I was in Les Duex Alpes, Killington and Sunday River in the US a few years ago and loved them so i'm looking for something that would be as good if not better than these places. The only thing i didn't like about Les Duex Alpes was the night life, it was very quite which is why were leaning towards Andorra this time as it has a good rep but anywhere in Europe is an option. Has anyone gone to both Les deux alpes and Andorra and know how they compare. Oh and any recommendations on hotels and apartments would be cool too.

    Cheers.

A few boardsters organize a regular trip to Livigno in the Italian alps around the same time. A quick search on this forum will probably turn up several related threads. Livigno rocks all round - it's very snowboarder-friendly (very few flats), the reps and instructors are all good craic, the food is some of the best you'll ever have and, it being a duty-free village, everything is dirt cheap. It seems to be very popular with Irish boarders and skiers generally.

    Have a look on http://www.livigno.com/en/index.htm

I concur Livigno rocks in every aspect except for the transfer time (4 3/4 hours)
