So yeah, I've uploaded a load of mp3 by me and the band....

Check it out here http://www.humplifunker.com/v3/downloads.htm and let me know what you think.

    Be honest.

Very enjoyable Daram. I didn't know what to make of 'Harmless' at first, but it really grew on me in the end in a quirky, almost Doors-esque kind of way.

'And Then There were None' was excellent. Reminded me of Gomez.

Schweet. Harmless is a strange one alright. Although at the same time its my favourite. I play the weird ass harpsichord on it.

Nice one for taking the time to listen lads.

"And Then" is a fantastic song! I've listened to it a fair few times now. Like the introduction of each instrument...

"Harmless" has great percussion and you gotta love that harpsichord line :)

Haven't listened to the others yet, but will when I get a mo. Good work daram!

[Dammit, I gotta get some tracks recorded and put up!]

Again, nice one. Nice to have good reviews. I know how brutal the boards people can be. Anyone remember Made in Taiwan. Those were funny days....

    :)

Well, they really brought it on themselves. Speaking of which, I know I've posted this before (in the process of recording some new stuff, hence my post about XLR cables!) but maybe people would be interested in the opportunity to slate somebody *new*:

Band is called "The Barrelhouse Cats", by the way...

I have no sound here in college but I'll listen when I get home.

When do you think your music will be up?
What you using to record, I got some good recording gear which i need to make dissapear for a few weeks while we renovate the building we're using!

It'll be a while yet (as in, probably a few weeks). The songs are written and finished, but we've finally got a permanent line-up for the band, so the newest members are still learning them.

It'll take a bit of screwing around at first, but I'll probably be using a Pro Tools or even something simple like Cool Edit Pro or n-Track to start with. Got an Edirol FA-101 (10 ins, 10 outs, firewire) which I'll have on Saturday. I also have a 12-track Behringer mixer, which I might incorporate should we need it.

All in its infancy for now! :)

By the way, that tune was recorded live and acoustic (obviously!) for DIT FM. That'd be me singing and on the 12-string. Yep.

Okay, so your recording gear is better than mine. Although I'd recommend staying away from the free version of protools, its crap. My program of choice is nuendo 2. Its a version of cubase, but i think its fantastic. All our tracks we're mixed and mastered using it. Fantastic built in compressor.

That Apple Tree song is a winner. Is that you singing? Ilike all the harmonys. Although the start (before it speeds up) is very like lilac wine. Just with an irish accent. Still nice though. Was it live? Im looking forward to hearing more stuff.
