There's an article in todays North County Leader saying the government has allocated €3.7 million for broadband cabling in Skerries and Donabate. They don't have anything on their website so no linky but here's an extract from it:

"North County Dublin has been chosen to help lead the broadband revolution in Ireland, it emerged last week. The government has agreed to give €3.7 million grant aid to Fingal County Council for the provision of broadband cabling facilities in Donabate and Skerries.
Fingal County Council will contribute 10 per cent towards the cost of the connection, which will run from the old N1 roadway to Donabate village and along Beaverstown Road and Portrane Road, servicing Turvey Business Park and private residences in Donabate. The Skerries cable will run from the railway station through the town up to Kelly's Bay residential area."

Skerries and Donabate were on the list of 41 towns included in the last DCMNR Call for Proposals for MAN projects. The submission deadline was only 2 weeks ago (27th Sept.) and it is unlikely that the DCMNR / Norcontel has already assessed all 41 proposals. It is more likely that a Fingal County Councillor has got his hands on the proposals and leaked them to the paper in question. These MAN's will be no different to the current 26 MAN's that don't include FTTH/C
