 Hi, rang two companies about getting cavity in a 9" cavity block house insulated. One salesman has come back to me to say this cannot be done and that I should avoid anyone who says they can do this and that drylining is the only option for houses constructed of 9" block.

he mentioned a company who clain they can do and says they are not certified and use a product which is illegal in Ireland.

Anybody any experience/knowledge on this subject?

You could look at insulating outside the wall, although this would mean you would need to planning permission as youa re increasing the footprint of the building.

    Amazing an honest salesman.

He's right. When you think abount it there will be a huge amount of cold bridging even if the cavities were filled with insulation.
You should consider dry lining. The kingspan product wil lonly take up two & half inches.
It will also give you nice new smooth walls which will add value to you house.
