Condom Question

    Hi!

I tried on a condom for the first time recently and my main question to you guys is, how is the condom meant to be when it's on?

I found it very difficult to roll it down over my penis and when I did eventually get it fully on it was really tight! It pinched my penis in at the bottom and made it turn white and the veins in it bulged out quite alot. Does this mean that my penis was too big for the condom? It was a standard condom so I was wondering do many people encounter this problem? It ended up looking like my poor penis was vacuum packed and when I rubbed that area, it was most uncomfortable as the rubber of the condom went under the foreskin! What am I doing wrong?!

since there is an instruction leaflet with the condoms telling you how to put it on i presume you are just posting this because you want to be told you have a jolly big knob because it will give you a cheap thrill because it is so far from the actual truth...i'll humour you tho:

yes, you have a big cock, buy bigger condoms next time.

You could be putting it on the wrong way (inside out)

Condoms are rolled up for storage in such as way that there is only one way to unroll them down your penis. If you try and do it the wrong way you will find it very hard to get it to unroll.

I suggest you buy some condoms and when you have a minute or two have a practice yourself on your own (well you and your fav lads magazine), because it is not something you want to be trying out when a girl is lying in bed ("just a sec love, you go on and start your motor").

Na, you're supposed to turn the bag inside out. Tayto are so greasy, the bag's already lubed :)

Did you take it out of the foil packet? Say "Yes"
Did you bite the condom while opening it? Say "No"
Did you unroll it before you tried to put it on? Say "No"
Did you tear the next one with your finger nail? Say "No"
Did you try to put it on inside out? Say "No"
Was there a human female present? Say "Yes"

If got any of those simple questions wrong, we should all be glad you're at least trying to use condoms.
Some people just shouldn't be allowed to breed. :D

I'm not trying to boast here, otherwise I would have posted this with my registered name and not as I have done anonymously! I would like to know how common it is for people not to fit into standard size condoms? Nobody has answered this yet.

Well seeing as how I've seen a lad put his whole head in one and blow it up with his nostrils, I'd say it's pretty rare that people would not fit into a standard one, so sorry, your knob is probably only average at best. I know its not what you want to hear, but there you go.

Sounds like you put it on inside out, has it happened since?

Definitely sounds like you tried to put it on inside out.

What brand of condom was it? I know I've noticed myself that the ring at the bottom of Mates condoms is tighter than on Durex.

Oh, and make sure you've pulled back your foreskin before trying to roll down the condom.

I've found Durex to be the most comfortable. They have an 'easy-on' range that is very good. I think it has a purple label on the box.

I've found Mates to be horribly uncomfortable, and generally anything that comes out of a vending machine is rubish too (I'm looking at you Safex!!!)

Why are people so skeptical that this guy might genuinely have a cock that's bigger than average and is therefore finding standard condoms too tight. Sounds like immature jealousy on the part of the people responding. To the OP, if your cock is more than about 5.75-6 inches around then you're going to find normal condoms feeling too tight and you need to look at larger size condoms - something like a Trojan Magnum or Magnum XL condom (available from loads of places online)

is that the white chocolate one with the almond flakes in it? ;)

seriously though, check out one of the bigger boots stores and have a look there. they generally have a good selection, and you can usually find the larger ones there. steer clear of pub toilet brands or you'll be sorry.

what ones were you using exactly?

I tried on a condom for the first time recently and it went on perfectly, but I was very tight. I found it was restricting blood flow and I was having trouble keeping it full erect with it on.

I don't think I'm any bigger than average.

Pasante (spelt something like that anyway) have a range of wider condoms, can be found in boots. give that a try and see how you go.

Irish shops generally have a very poor selection of condoms. For better choice and possibly cheaper prices too go to an online retailer such as (don't laugh) Bigboycondoms.

I had similar experiences first couple of times around and 'got over it'. Not saying you will but exercise some patience and see. As said Easy On range is a good one, but you'd have to be particularly large for durex not to fit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭RossFixxxed

Depends on the type of Durex, some of them are seriously way too small. The advanti (non latex ones) are bigger and more comfortable (but not that long), the gossamer ones are like little baloons, terrible!

Easy .... have you ever put on over your head there is a lot of room in there
you are most likely putting it on wrong read the label .... trial and error when you fist put them on they feel alien but just keep on trying it will get easier.

and lots of fun when you get to use then on a partner

Not saying you aren't .. er ... large ... but it is unlikely you wouldn't be able to roll it down fine, even if you were a porn star. For a start there are no "small" size condoms for obvious reasons ("I would like a pack of small condoms, for my small willy, please"). Secondly condoms are strechy, so even if it was too small it would probably just feel very tight and break at a bad time. "Average" size condoms should fit most people, even well endowned people.

I would say it is more likely that you are putting it on wrong. The fact that it was difficult to roll down would lead one to think that, because even if it was tight it should still unroll fine.

But you can always get XXL condoms and try them. I would be more worried about them being too lose than too tight though. You don't want anything escaping.

You can get extra large condoms in the family planning clinic but you shouldn't need them unless you're over 10 inches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,191 ✭✭✭Unpossible

I find some brands tighter than others. Just try another brand, the best I've found is Sultan. But I dont know if its in Ireland

lol maybe your penis is too short, so you're left loads of rubber rolled up at the base pressing in on you
