go to komplett.ie or jes-computer.de, what sort of a pc are you looking for, ie. will you be doing much gaming etc.

i recommend athlon over intel go for 800 fsb motherboard at least 3 pci slots 1 agp 4 usb i dont think pcx is necessary at present ,with ethernet dont get the fastest processor get rouns 2800 ghz 1mb l2 cache and spend money on components ie 200gig at least hardrive dvdwriter fast and dvd drive 1gig memory dolby 5.1 sound card and a fast video card with 128meg memory use kompett.ie to price components look for special offers packages on irish retail sites like elara or komplett lokk thru previous posts on boards 4 more technical info in computers subsection.

building one is always better than buying one!

It would be easier to advise you if you specified what you intended doing with it.
You can get a reasonable desktop machine from a supplier like Encom for around €500 with a 2 year warranty. (http://www.encom.ie)

im not trying to be rude but:
    1)its called pci-e not pci-x, pci-x is for servers(easy to mix up)
2)200 gigs hd and 1 gig of ram wont be got for said budget of €600
3)800 fsb motherboard? if you mean cpu, again out of said budget

plus jes.de are a good bit cheaper than komplett

u,d be better to get a directx 9 compatible grafixcard just to be future proof , get pc with usb 2 ports at front saves alot of cable tangling.components u need depend on pc use is it for gaming or general use .or art animation ,music composition.its handy to have dvdr and also a fast dvd drive aswell.

ok ,then reduce expenses by getting 100 gig hard drive 512megram athlon compatible motherboard ,my point is motherboard with agp will be compatible with the fastest graphics card at present ,hes not gonna spend 300+ on the grafixcard, get above items calculated and see what u have left from 600 ,get just 1 dvdr drive ,u wont need 2dvd drives .get mb with onboard 5.1 surround sound,id recommend abit kv8 72euro on komplett, withsocket754. ,its atx standard ,my experience is atx is best in regard to building fitting in cases and buying powersupplys ,id recommend atlon 64 on complett,144e or athlon 2800 round 88e,u will need socket 754 motherboard if u are going for an athlon cpu, u may get better prices on other sites ,but use irish sites cos u get gaurantee if theres a problem and quick delivery.if u have fast cpu and mb u can always upgrade.in future memory or components.

    Here you go Joe.

    Processor - 82e

    Motherboard - 64e

    Memory - 80e

    cpu cooler - 11e

    case + psu - 60e

    hard-drive - 76e

    dvd drive - 22e

    Graphics card - 100e

That's 495e excl delivery so expect it to be about 550e with delivery.

Those 2400 mobiles are great overclockers. They usually reach at least 2.5ghz which is about the equivilent of a 3.2ghz p4. They offer the best value for money for someone on a budget and perform really well.

bloods solutinon seems fairly solid, however would an 11 euro cooler do for the aforementioned overclock?

Yes. I had a friend order almost the same parts. The same mobo, cpu and cooler and his is at 2.5ghz with load temps of only 50c. The mobiles run very cool.

now that i think of it i heard someone saying they run cool due to voltage or something like that

mobile chips have a lower voltage yes -- 1.45V on the xp2500/600's I believe. My desktop xp3000+ chip runs at 1.65V for comparison..
