Winmx or BitTorrent on the DCU wireless network??

    Is it possible to use Winmx or BitTorrent on the dcu network?. i can't get either of them to work, i'm using a laptop on the wireless network

    As far as I know the ports needed for filesharing are blocked cos if yis were downloading too much the college's bandwidth would be taken up completely with all the dirty movies i know yis like to download

    Im not sure about the wireless network, but i know in res HTTP tunnel and stuff works

    might want to give that a try

    Its naughty and the collage wont be happy finding you downloading 1.5GB sexcie movies all day long.

    Besides that the legality thing aswell.

    Heh, there's no college in Dublin (at least) that I'm aware of allows the usage of bittorrent-like applications. It would be suicide; not only in terms of dragging the entire campus down so someone can get their next fix of dodgy film releases and pornography, but it would be a very easily identifiable host for the RIAA to go "Bam, you guys are getting a lawsuit."

    There was a guy in the CSD who had a nice little racket going for himself.
    The college then got a threatening legal type letter.
    No more.
