I know this is a sensitive topic, due to large scale piracy etc. But if I wanted to copy some BBC science dvd's for a local science/astronomoy club, how can I get past the copyright cant be copied problem in such dvd recording programmes like Easy CD & DVD 6 etc etc.

In fairness, maybe these kinds of dvd's should be cheaper! I mean, such clubs could not afford €50+ each for 3 or 4 good astronomy and science series?

    Thanks for the help,

    Con.

In fairness, I don't think you will get a decent response to this topic, it shouldn't even be asked, there are normally cheaper, older films, docus etc you could use.
Or you could write to BBC in relation to this problem and see if they would have the courtesy to give you a better price for bulk buying.

Are you asking if you are legal allowed to copy it, or if you can actually physically perform the process? The process owuld be similar to that you would perform backing-up a privately owned dvd, but you couldn't give the backup to a third party. http://www.videohelp.com/ has many interesting guides on how you would perform such an operation. The intent you state above is illegal.

AnyDVD runs in the background when windows starts, removes copyrights of any DVDs you put in the drive!

to use for backup intention, if you dont own it you dont copy it thats what they say!

I realise I deserve a nitpicking award for this one but while it may remove the copy protection and while it may remove the copyright notice, it doesn't remove the copyright.

Would lending them your own DVD be out of the question?
(ignoring the moment that they may be shown in public for which you'd technically need a licence to do)

use dvddecrypter and dvd shrink. in decrypter click edit ,main movie files and ifo`s and then click on the dvd disc icon which will write the files to a named folder on your hard drive . open dvd shrink ,click reauthor and navigate to the folder created by decrypter .click on this folder untill the movie file is in the left pane of shrink and click backup. this will verify the files and burn it to a dvd but you have to have nero installed . you can download a demo of nero which will work . there are settings in shrink by which you can deselect different language files . it really works well.
