wtf, Sky One wasting the whole evening by showing "pre-match" runup and the "Match" showing old football players against Z-list celebs (if you can even call them that) I hope to god RTE don't catch onto this idea and waste more of are money on tv shows that they think people will watch and enjoy.

I think it'll be interesting to see the old pro's playing and some of the "celebs" too ...

but they are milking it a bit ..

    abit? Thats a understantment :)
I got home from work @ 17.00 and there were showing pre-match runup to a Match that doesn't even start till 19.00.
Any money going to charity for this thing at all?

Why are you so bothered? Sky'donly be showing Star Trek repeats, Simpsons eps from 10 years ago and 'Kirstys Home Videos' quality programming if this match thing wasn't on.

.... and yes I think it is a charity event too.

RTE can't manage to even cover the REAL football that exists in this country. So I can't imagine they'd be bothered to replicate a stunt like this one either.

Yeah the pre match stuff has been crap.

Watching it now, not that bad really ;)

Interesting game, its actually not bad, considering.

That said, Wrighty and Razor Ray Houghton are on the bench and I expect when they are introduced, things might change.

[edit] Wright is on now, I expect a goal to follow

Wasn't a bad match, McCoist has the winner it seems but what about Wilkes goal? Any premiership player would have been happy with that!!

What was the name of that blonde Scottish burd who was interviewing the managers on pitchside during the match? Mmmmm.... tasty!

i watched the show a bit during the week i thought it was quite good you could see the celebs were serious about it... and 2 -1 was a a great result...

too much buildup but not a bad format?

Is the format not like "Underdogs" on TG4? There, players who think they are better than they are or were overlooked when younger get trained and then take on the real deal in one-off match?

i thought i was a good idea. i know alot of them are "celebrities" but a good few of them had trials and stuff. i mean johnny wilkes was asked to go pro but he turned it down for a music careeer. bet he's regretting that now. be class if robbie had done it as he is ment to be a savage footballer. what a goal from wilkes tho! i think it was a cross really tho? did he say he ment it after?

overall i think it was a good idea and i know the legends are legends but i tell ya then gave them a run for their money. was cheering on the celebs really. how funny was trevor francis? firsst time he kicked a competitive ball in 11 year!
