InstallShield problem

    Hi!
    (winXP prof. sp1)
I have problems with installation of software using InstallShield. The InstallShield setup process works without problem. For all the programs I have tried I can read the licence aggreement, choose which folder should be used, keys and other preinstall questions. As soon as the real installation begins somethings goes wrong. I have seen other people facing problems with installShield but they at least get to 99% or 50% finished... I get 0% finished and nothing happens. I have tried this with lots of installShield setups. (i.e. setup.exe). When I shut the installprocess down, either by closing the process ikernel.exe in the taks manager or just closing the setup I receive a message like: "A RPC could not reach its destination" (translation from Swedish)

I have emptied my Temp folder.
I have started the RPC locator in admin.tool/services/ , it is set to automatic.
I have tried to download an update for my ikernel: ikernelupdate.exe, but it also fails to install, just freezes and there I am, sad and wihtout hope...
    I have sufficient free space.

I have also problems when I try to install/upgrade windows, like sp2... it wont work... not actually freezes...but just doesnt work anymore, nothing happens...

    Thanks.
