is it easy to blow the motherboard on this pc

    i got this baby a while back a year or so ago ...when i got it ..it was part of a trade for something and it had no power cable with it ...so i remember trying some other power cable and it never worked ..so i striped it down and sold the p3 cpu and the memory and hard drive ...now i dug it up again and im thinking of making it back up but could i have blown the power when i tryed it first time ......." i used the power lead of the scanner back then ....i wasnt to up on computers back then :o" would it be easy to blow this kind of mobo...is it worth my while picking up the bits to try and rebuild it ????? http://www.cappuccinopc.com/cappuccinotx1.asp

    I different power cable wouldn't make a difference as long as it fitted properly, the PSU is the only thing that could of blown it but you where using the built in one wern't you?

    not unless if your PSU were faulty, then you have a chance of damaging compononents, other than that, power lead wont do damage, I often rob the kettle lead from the kitchen when I having got enough leads to power up more PCs, nothing will happen accept someone will start giving out crap when they want to make coffee, lol !!!

    the lead that i used never worked or got the pc working ..but i think i seen a spark when i pluged it in ..BTW remember this was almost 2 years ago :D... now i can get my hands on one of those new trust all in one laptop power supply cables and as there is no visable psu in the system ..like a laptop i reckon i will work???? its 18v ac power which it needs

    Yea maybe it is one of those leads it needs the type with the black box in the middle of the cable like the ones you get with speakers ect. try that anyway.
