Programming with a bit of Sys Admin on the side

    Hi Guys,

Some of will already know that I work for a company in Galway who produce engineering software.

Basically, I'm looking for a mini-me. The main part of the job is GUI programming in C++ (90%) but a significant side line is a bit of sys admin (10%). Currently I do all the sys admin on my own and it's got to the stage that the company are afraid somethings going to happen to me. We're still far too small to hire someone full time for this stuff, there just isn't enough work in it.

It may seem like an unusual mixture (software and hardware) but I'm sure there are people out there it would really appeal to. If you have an engineering or computer science degree and you're really enthusastic about computers, computing and programming, if the idea of standing in a server room with the lights out watching all the LEDs get you misty eyed, perhaps this job would be ideal :)

What I'm asking is that if you feel this might suit you, or you'd like to have a very informal chat about it, drop me an email at KieranCoughlanNOT@mcs.com (remove the NOT).

    Thanks,

    Kieran
