RF-OUT on video just stopped working

    Yesterday when I got home the signal from my RF-out from my VCR wasn’t working.

    I have a fairly standard setup with the Video SCART output of my Sky DIGIBOX going into AV2 on the video.
    TV Scart output from the DIGIBOX to AV1 on my TV.

    AV1 from my video to AV2 on my TV.

    RF-OUT from the DIGIBOX to the RF-IN on the Video.
    RF-OUT from my Video to my RF-IN on the TV.

    I don’t need the RF-out of the video to the TV to watch any tapes on my TV because the picture goes through the scart, but I have a cable that runs from the back of my video into another room that is connected to another TV that the kids use and I can put a tape on for them in the other room.

    I’ve gone through the whole tuning band range and I just can’t seem to find the video signal. Is it possible that the circuitry for the RF-out has failed in this video?

    I know the cable is good as the signal from the DIGIBOX RF-out into the Video is able to be tuned in on the TV.

    I can’t answer your question about the VCR’s RF output but I’d suggest you discard the second scart between the VCR and the TV and re-arrange your coax routing:

    SCARTS

    Scart (1) from TV socket on Sky digibox to AV1 on main TV;
    Scart (2) from VCR socket on Sky digibox to scart in/out on VCR;
    N.B. (a) Recording from Sky digibox is via scart connection only (there's no need for RF anyway).
    N.B. (b) Playback from the VCR on the main TV is via scart only (it will 'loop through' the digibox and say, "look at me" to AV1 on the TV).

    RF (coax) leads

    Coax (1) from external aerial to VCR IN (female socket). This enables terrestrial recording if required;
    Coax (2) from VCR OUT (male socket) to Sky digibox RF IN (female socket);
    Coax (3) from Sky digibox RF1 OUT to main TV;
    RF2 OUT on the digibox is now available for running an RF feed [coax (4)] of the VCR* output and the Sky digibox output to the other room.

    *IF you can get the RF out from the VCR working again.
