I dropped my CV into Xtra vision last week and they rang me to tell me there's an open day in a city centre hotel tomorrow. I'm in college tomorrow, can I just go in straight after college wearing a pair of runners and a sweatshirt or would I have to dress up?

What are these open days like?

Its on from 12-8pm so should I expecting it to be more or less empty when i get there (there can't be that many people going that it needs to be 8 hours long)?

    Any more info.

    Cheers.

I went to an open day for my last job which was for a mobile phone company in a customer care capacity. I did dress up as thought officey job thats the way to go but out of 1200 people that went, onloy 150 were called back for interview and there wernt many dressed up so I would say do try and make a good impression.

I also bought a cv because and not may had done so, also afterwards when I started all the people that were taking names etc were the supervisors for the whole dept so make sure your extremely nice to everyone to do with interview. The guy that took my details ended up being my direct supervisor so it might not be as casual as you think.

This was the case for a job I went for years ago as well, they got this young one to sit at the door taking names and she said afterwards that anyone snotty to her they automatically discounted.

You would be surprised how many turn up, because thats the recruitment for xtravision countrywide as far as I know. Like I said the one I went for thought it would be empty as went towards end but not the case at all, have seen adverts for these open days in shop windows and papers etc past few weeks as have been looking for part time jobs as well.

Good luck hope you get on ok!
