OK, I know that UK TVs and videos don't have the same tuner frequencies as over here. Can anyone tell me which Irish channels aren't available on a UK tuner please?

    It is what it's.

If you live in Dublin all the Irish channels are available on a uk tuner via an aerial as the three rock transmitter is UHF.
The same is true in the north east and much of the midlands and some other areas.

Afaik NTL analog is VHF so you will need a device that converts vhf to uhf for that-peats would probably have them.

ntl seems to be 50/50 as to whats on VHF and UHF

IIRC ntl did move some VHF channels to UHF but it could have been a distant dream

Yea, on ntl analogue there is a mix between VHF & UHF.

If you needed to though, instead of buying a VHF to UHF convertor it might be cheaper to buy a standard Irish video recorder as that will have a VHF & UHF tuner built-in. :)

Mind you, some newer TV's & VCR's in the UK also have VHF capabilites. I'd try that out first, if you're lucky you may not need anything else. :D

E4 and CNBC seem to be on UHF on NTL.

Just one small point - CNBC on 408MHz is deemed to be on the VHF Hyperband, not UHF. However if the UHF tuner in your TV doesn't have its tuning limits set too strictly, it may just reach down to CNBC.
