Abit BE7 + Muvo + USB2.0

I've just bought Creative's Muvo - 4GB MP3 player which supports USB 2.0
However when I connected it to my pc I get an warning message saying the MuVo is connected to USB 1.1. I'm running Win XP Pro with SP2. I checked Abit's website for a USB 2.0 driver but is says download SP1 for XP. Any idea's?

Do you have a 2.0 slot?

What i had to do with a pc without one was dont click on the error message and work away in the back ground using the 1.1 slot.

If you have a 2.0 slot you need a updated driver fix on windows update its int he Custom install section under drivers, or creative site may have it.

I've seen some motherboard has USB 1.1 and 2.0 on the board, the 1.1 is on the back of the case when the board is installed, the 2.0 is from the header on the board going to a Front Panel or back bracket! but your board suppose to have all USB 2.0, maybe try a bios update! did you try contact abit and creative about it?

As Striker pointed out all USB slots on my motherboard are 2.0 yet when I connect the player into a slot (front) it gives me a message saying it's connected to USB 1.1. My first instinct was to try for a USB driver on the Abit site but it says to install SP1 which (I imagine) has the USB driver. I've SP2 installed.

have to have Sp1 to have Sp2 so you have it.
Have you got the USB slot plugged into the right sockets internally?
I would remove it and retry purge the old drivers and start clean.

I have KV7 and wanted me 2.0s at the back so had to switch them maybe be opposite for you.

had a similar problem with an abit nf7-s. Your board is probably using the original winxp usb1.1 drivers and installing sp1 doesn't seem to update them automatically, so you've to remove the first drivers (the ones installed by plain old XP) and then reboot the system. When the machine restarts and looks for drivers it will find the updated ones from sp1 and use these and then hopefully you'll have lots of usb2.0 fun

use the ports on the back. Alot of the sockets on the front of the cases will only work for USB 1.1, depending on the age/cheapness of the case. Even if the header is USB 2.0
