i have a 21 inch monitor wth D-Sub and BNC connectors (Philips Brilliance 201B). is there anyway i can use me video as a TV Tuner and connect to it using some sort of Coax-D-Sub or Coax-BNC convertor cheapish?
its only a temp solution until i can get a TV Tuner card and a PC capable of running it.

Actually, wat are the very minimum specs ill need to watch TV (Not record or edit, just watch)? Hopin to get it done in time for Ireland-France Match.

Never heard of a Dsub or BNc converter, Tv cards fairly cheap now about €25 for a no frills one.

Min spec is a pc they will work on almost any pc.

Well DSub is the standard VGA connector and BNC is 5 colour coded wires (black grey reb green blue) that are used for high quality monitors such as the ones used in graphics design. u wouldnt really notice the difference unless ur doin graphic design. might be a bit outdated now with DVI and such, not sure though. still works good.

i actually got the monitor free! local newspaper was throwin it out along with an Apple 21 inch monitor.

€25? i could split that with me 4 housemates. gettin pipe in next week too. duz that have a remote control aswell or will i have to get off me arse to change channel?

You would have to get off your arse and change it.

Have you no TV at all ?

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/search.aspx?MenuNo=691&MenuName=TV+Card&worldid=4&FromMenu=y&doy=7m10

    Decent selection there.

But if you have any sort fo TV some rabbit ears and you can watch it.

You can get them with remote controls, though theyusually cost a few quid more. They're supposed to be relatively easy to make though, if you're any good with a sodlering iron.

i found a cheap generic one on www.avermedia.co.uk in the graphics cards section for £17.

i do actually have a telly but its 14 inch. u hav to sit up close to the telly to see it. has crappy sound aswell, which is another reason i wanted to watch it on monitor and hook up Speakers.

i have a mate whos gonna build a PC ~P2 400Mhz from scrap then keep that downstairs with the card in it. that way we can watch TV and DivXs and DVDs etc but unfortunately have to play XBOX on 14 inch coz it uses scart.
