    Hey,

I've got an iQon Qompanion 8640 notebook. Had to reinstall windows recently and mainboard drivers seem to have been lost - tried to load Sims 2 but it says display adaptors aren't available. Rang support line and they gave me a web address for the mainboard manufacturer but I can't remember it now - it's mi-something

    Any help appreciated

    Chris

www.belarc.com run the advisor program find out mainboard name and google till you find manufacturer then get the drivers.

When you see mainboads name you may recall the website.

Dose the Laptop come with a Graphics card or on-board graphics.. if its a card download the latest moblie drivers for that card, if its onboard do what kdjac said and find out the boards manufacutor and get their drivers.. dose MSI ring a bell?

Rang tech support again and they sent me to http://www.mitacuk.com - seems mitac make the notebooks and iQon stick labels on them. So apparently the laptop I have is actually a MiNote 8640 - but even when i search for MB drivers for it it says there's no downloads available. Guh. The graphics are onboard.

If you run the belarc progrma it will tell you the mainboard type , im guessing its an intel with a 83845 chip , once you know the mainboard number go to intel site and get latest drivers.

    hey all

ran belarc and now have display and audio drivers working. my final gripe is with my Netopia wireless 802.11b card. I can't find the CD with drivers anywhere, Netopia said to talk to Samsung who seemingly actually made the card but Samsung have no records of an SWL-2300N. And I'm assuming it's a driver prob but could be wrong - whenever I insert the card no notification comes up saying that new hardware's been added and the status lights are dull as opposed to flashing when the thing was actually working. So now i'm tethered to my BB router :(
    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks

    Chris
