TG4 isn't a bad channel at all, apart from all the Irish language stuff biggrin.gif

It's worth keeping an eye on its program schedules. Sometimes they can come up with gems of programs/films.

I hate that they are repeating films at noon that were only on last year.

Yeah, TG4 is good contender for the best Irish terrestrial channel at the moment. Considering their presumably small budget compared to the other 3 (Channel 6 doesn't count), they spend their money pretty well.

Pity the likes of TV3 couldnt' take note of how to run a channel properly :(

I often thought that TV3 should "take a leaf" out of TG4's programming (i.e. developing its own type of programming) rather than just shoving on everything ITV has to offer. I know taht ITV have a big stake on TV3, but a little originality would be nice.

It's a great channel, but it gets so overlooked in newspaper listings that sometimes it's hard to know what's even on the channel. But they show some really good stuff, put in loads of effort with their own original programming and live sport and everything, so even if your Irish isn't great it's still very watchable.

Hopefully TV3 will be forced into making more of their own good stuff now that ITV's out of the question.

Cén fáth go bhfuil "westerns" ar siúl oiche Dé hAoine nuair atá gach duine ag lorg seó mar an Late Late nó mar sin?

no self respecting irish man would ever criticise the airing of Westerns the only manly film genre, and tg4 have been brilliant in providing them.

but surely the moral values of the irish nation are threatened with all those dubs of the latest celebrity lifestyle show.

yes TG4 is a well run station. you have got to hand ito them, they do a great job.
when is survivor coming back?--- it should be soon.

i am not like Bard. i have bad irish. i never liked irish when i was at school, but if TG4 was around in my school days it may have been a different story. but i dont care about my irish (my spanish is 1000 times better than my irish) i watch TG4 from time to time cause its good.

Tg4 A Well Run Station!! You Got To Be Joke N, Not Only Is It Full Or Repeats, But Every Film They Have On At Noon, Is A Repeat From Last Year. The Same With The Friday Night Cowboy Films, They Were All Shown Last Year.

Oddly enough there is some evidence that sometime people want to watch a film again, or how else do you explain DVD sales ?

It's not like they have a big budget, and it's not like TV3 or C6 produce anything like as wide a range of programs

I love watching Survivor on TG4. I now know that the Irish for survivors is na maireanóirí (possibly not the correct spelling though). I once saw an episode in the US and it wasn't the same without the Irish accent giving the voice overs between Jeff Probst and co.

"But Every Film They Have On At Noon, Is A Repeat From Last Year. The Same With The Friday Night Cowboy Films, They Were All Shown Last Year."

If you dislike it so much i'm surprised you are so familiar with its schedule - and you have been watching lots of it -despite having at least 3 alternative channels. There is a tendency in all channels to show repeats at off peak times rather than leaving the slot empty.

Tá an stáisiun an-mhaith ó thaobh spóirt, cluichí nach mbíonn le fáil aon áit eile. Taitníonn Ros na Rún agus Cómhrá liom freisin,Tá Paisean faisean níos fearr nó Off The Rails - níl na héadaí ró dhaor. Bíonn na scanáin an-mhaith freisin - bíonn síad sean de gnath ach tá na chinn sean níos fearr go minic.

Sorry if there were mistakes in my Irish - thought it was appropriate to use it on this post. Oh as regard TV Guides in papers Independent and tabloids are crap - The Irish Times magasine gives proper details re TG4.

TG4, it's like a babe factory. I keep imagining the building where they broadcast from is like that movie Weird Science and some computer geek is just producing them to order.
