I've had a few interviews this week for co-op jobs based in collinstown, what I want to know is what is the daily commute like from dublin to leixlip, what are the buses, journey time etc. I just want to know what I'm looking at if I do get the job, as i'd prefer to live in dublin for the duration of my co-op.

Since you asked about buses too:
    Dublin Bus

I live near Leixlip and would reckon the bus journey would be about an hour. But that could be off as your journey is against the traffic and unlikely to be stuck in many snarl-ups. I think the 66 is the only bus to go to Collinstown (Intel) but just ask their HR. They _might_ have a shuttle bus from the village. Some companies in the IFSC do this sort of thing.

Trains to Leixlip go from Pearse, Connolly, Tara St. and that line. They're not extremely regular but at rush hour theres plenty of them. Buses 66 66a 66b and 66x all go through leixlip so the walk from wherever the bus stop is wouldn't be that bad. At rush hour going into town in morning and coming home in evening isnt very nice but you'll be going other way so shouldn't be so bad :)

The journey out in the morning is not that bad However the travel from Leixlip to town is horrible I would not advise it you cant budget your time at all the traffic is a nightmare alot to do with mothers with there Landrovers taking one child to school and when its raining forget about it

your best bet is to get the train. As somelse stated they are quite frequent in the peak. Off-peak there is a train every-hour, not quite clockface so check www.irishrail.ie, lo-call 1850366222, or call to your local station. DART / COMMUTER timetables are available for all main suburban station at €1.20.
