Welcome to the Limerick City Forum on boards.ie If you have come to this forum for the first time through www.limerickcity.com then you will need to register with boards.ie before you can post. It only takes about a minute and is free of charge.

There are some ground rules you must remember before posting here. They are:

    (1) Do not insult other posters.

    (2) Do not Libel anyone whether they be forum users or not.

    (3) Posting messages for the purpose of [wiki]advertising[/wiki] products or get-rich-quick schemes is forbidden.

    (4) Do not post links to illegal MP3s or [wiki]warez[/wiki] websites.

    (5) Do not post pornographic or gruesome images.

    (6) Do not ask for or answer requests for illegal items (Drugs, fireworks, etc)

    (7) Making smart replies to threads started by people seeking information will result in a banning, If you cannot assist or make a suggestion, then don't reply.

    (8) A post may be edited or deleted for breaches of the rules mentioned here. If you wish to question any action taken, then follow the instructions set out in the post directly below this one entitled "Dispute Resolution Procedure.". Questioning moderator decisions in thread will be deleted and the user will be banned as such action takes a thread off topic.

    (9) Using "[wiki]txt spk[/wiki]" will result in a banning.

    (10) Whilst I do not have a problem with people bringing back a thread from page 2 or 3 of the forum to post a valid reply, I do have a problem with people dragging up multiple threads from last year. Any thread which has been "brought back from the dead" for no valid reason will be locked.

Thats about it really breaches of any of the above will result in bannings.

If you feel that any of the above rules are being broken, please do not hesitate to click on the "report bad post" button beside the offending post. this will be an icon with an exclaimation mark ("!") in it. Reporting a post in this fashion will ensure a quicker reply from the moderators.

DO NOT abuse the report post facility. This feature is not for complaining about someone who disagrees with you, it is for reporting breaches of the above rules. It is also not a feedback facility. If you wish to query moderator actions then use the Feedback or Helpdesk forums. Bans resulting from misuse of the report post facility are PERMANENT

These rules may change in the future, A notice will be posted in the forum if this occours

    Billy

    Dispute Resolution Procedure*

    1. If you have a problem with a post, thread or a ban from a forum, the first step should be a PM to the moderator in question. If you are not comfortable with PM'ing that particular mod, you can PM the other mods of that forum. You will find the list of the mods at the bottom of the forum in question. If you have been banned from a forum it is still possible to enter it to see who the mods are by logging out of boards.ie first.
    2. If you are not happy with the outcome of the above, then next step is to PM the Category Moderators. They are listed alongside the regular mods.
    3. Failing that, you can then take it to Help Desk forum where an Admin can become involved and give an opinion on the matter.

    Things not to do:

    1. Argue with a mod on thread - This is just so that the thread doesn't become derailed by something other than the topic of the thread
    2. Start a new thread in the forum you are having a problem in
    3. Start a thread in Feedback
    4. Start a thread in Boards.ie Help Desk until all other avenues for resolution have been exhausted
    5. Send abusive PMs (this will earn you a siteban)

The current moderators for this forum are:
    billy the squid
    Insect Overlord
    Clareman

    The Category Moderators are:
    Dub13
    Lucy Lu

(*The DRP is still under review, so some of these details may change in the coming months. I'll post up a notice if it's needed.)

A special forum for dispute resolution has been set up and can be found here. If you have any issue with a moderator's decision, follow the dispute resolution procedure as outlined in the forum. The chain of command goes Moderator->CMod->Admin. Jumping straight to the forum to plead your case will not be looked on favourably by anyone, so please follow the procedure that is outlined.
