    Hi all,

I have a DVD that I authored myself. Is it possible to capture some of the video from the DVD and create a '.avi' or '.mov' file?

Try easyDivx or DrDivx to convert it into .avi format, you get good quality this way and the file size is not to big.

I use Gordeans Knot (Two Pass XviD + Ogg sound), a mix of the best quality and licencing philosophy. Xvid is very CPU intensive though.

Visit Doom9.org as it is a very good resource for encoding and has excellent guides.

Thanks, I'll give EasyDIVX a try. God bless freeware.
