Having issues finding a program that can do this.

Keep getting errors with every program i use but the AVIs play fine.
Tmpgenc only opens the audio and on their website it says they dont support them but it is possible ( tried that they said still didnt work)

Anyone know an encoder that works

I use xvid 1.0 or greater, ogg audio, and ogm packaging.
I'm using linux though, don't you use *nix too, I think I saw you posting there before KdjaC.
I mostly use mencoder, but sometimes it can be a bit tricky syncing A/V on the command line, acidrip is a nice mencoder frontend, you can use that to make xvid avi encodes with lavc(mp3) audio. Works very nicely indeed. A decent Frontend for transcode is dvdrip, can be quite good also, and can package ogm straight off. But i must say I've had less trouble with acid rip, and ripping on the fly is much simpler.
In windows Gordian knot is the way to go, but i found flask mpeg worked faster with amd chips(but thats a few years back, it could well be different now).
If you do decide to use *nix for encoding, make sure to compile mencoder or transcode with the appropriate cpu flags, you can just cat /proc/cpuinfo to see whats available. On my P4 here fr example, i use sse sse2 mmx mmx2 in my cflags, cuts down encoding time by half (seriously it's well cool), but dont use hyper threading (the 'ht' flag) cause it will slow things down. The only other thing is filters, here ive uploaded a piceh.

filmdint is a good filter for geting rid of interlacing problems (inverse telecine).
you could also try pullup(basically gives perfect results), its a 3rd generation filter for eliminating those nasty scan lines, but I found it breaks sometimes.
    Anyhow hope this helps. ;)

I've used TMpgEnc 3.0 before and it worked well.

If a program isn't loading an AVI file, try passing it through AVISynth first.

You can do this by downloading and installing AviSynth, and then creating a file in notepad with this line:

    AviSource("C:\your_videofile.avi")

and saving it as a .avs file. You should then be able to load that avs file with whatever program.

do a search for the K_Lite_Codec_Pack which covers nearly all formats - once installed u should no longer have problems with tmpengc

For using NERO 6 to encode Xvid to DVD you will need the right Codec , and yes it is point and click.. and its the same with most programs you need to install them first for them to work.
