    Hi,
As most who visit this thread are into trad, it follows suit that they may know about pubs that do regular sessions of traditional music in Ireland, and I'd like to hear from them.
I'm looking for pubs anywhere and everywhere, so please post the one that you know, to build some type of database of the pubs that play trad music.

    Please include (in this order, to make it easier to understand);
    • Name of pub
    • Address of pub
    • Nights it does the music (+ times if it matters)
    • Type of music (bands, lone musician, mix, etc)

I think one of the main trad pubs in Dublin is,
Hughes on Chancery St. behind the 4 Courts. Music session every night - 2/3 regulars and then others come and join in.
The Cobblestone in Smithfield, very cool pub. Sessions also every night same as Hughes.
Smiths in Ranelagh used to have sessions every Wednesday night but not sure if that's still going on, maybe someone else will know?
The Merchant on the Quays, not sure of exact address or when they have music though.
The Chancery near 4 Courts I think has sessions also but would have to check it out for sure.
Thats all I can think of at the moment :)

The Cobblestone definitely gets a thumbs up, small enough place but well worth a visit, mainly been there on a friday and wednesday, hope you enjoy

Peppers in Feakle, Co Clare. Weds nights, 10 till whenever. All comers session, heavy on Clare style.

Joyces in Tuamgraney, Clare. First Tuesday of month, 9 onwards, acoustic session that's not particularly trad but open to most styles.

Keanes in Mountshannon, Clare. Every Thursday, 9 onwards. Again not strict trad but everybody welcome and the management are sometimes desperate for trad players!

The Cobblestone and The Merchant are good. There are a few good places around Temple Bar. Upstairs on a Sunday night in Gogarty's is good, though its more ballads than pure traditional music. They often have a ban in the bar in Blooms Hotel on a Saturday night playing something similar. Comhltas Ceoltóirí Eireann in Monkstown, near Dun Laoghaire, is good too for the real traditional stuff.

Shoot The Crows in Sligo, near the centre of town beside that monument that stands out in the middle of the road. My brother used to play there, was a very good session.
