would anyone know where I could get one?

I found a site - www.student-laptops.co.uk - which has them for £79, no internet, windows 95 I think, but they don't send to ROI. I really just want it for word and excel, there must be somewhere I can get one??

Post in the Wanted forum, and keep an eye on the For Sale forum for computers.

I got an old Toshiba laptop there for 60 yo-yos a while ago - would have done you fine.....

Thank you Tomk! Problem is I'm a bit wary of posting in the wanted section, in case people jump at the chance to rip off some computer ignoramus who will stupidly hand over a couple of hundred euro for a piece of s***e. Don't like to be cynical, just trying to be streetwise...(or something)

If you are bidding in an open forum you can rest assured that if a rip off is taking place 10 - 100 different boards users will point it out.
As tomk said go for it in the wanted forum, if you are not sure if your deal is good (i.e. if no one replies saying it's a high price / good deal) ask a few questions in the computer forum.

Judging from what I've seen on the For Sale boards here, unless the seller is being ripped off the users point it out.

Just use your head. You already have a guide price there from that uk site - include that in your Wanted post, and also insist on a "test drive" before handing over the cash. It's a laptop, after all - you won't be making the seller lug a load of heavy gear anywhere.

Try www.laptopwow.com . They have used laptops for sale from around E499.
