I’m going to purchase an AMD Athlon 64 3000. Anybody got advice on a good Heat sink/Fan. I might do some over clocking in the future so would need to allow for that. The quieter the better is there any I can get that that has no fan just for pure silence or may one were the fan can be switched off/low

thermalight are always good, u choose ur own fan with them, so u can control over the noise part :)

the zalman 7000s get good things said about them and theyre cheaper than the thermalrights, but the thermalrights is what id go for

Silence and performance = Zalman..... great choice IMO. (the 7000 series btw)

The xp-120 is the best performing heatsink on the market. Combined with a quiet 120mm fan your looking at great performance and silence.

Check thermlrights site for a compatability list. Usually it involves bending a capacitr slightly out of the way. I'd have to remove the otes system on mine completely to get it on.
